Hi, my name is Aaron Rainey.

I have lived in Oxfordshire most of my life, and have always been around animals. As a youngster I would often assist my father in looking after race horses at the stable yard where he worked.

For many years I worked for a pharmaceutical company, helping to improve the lives of people with diabetes. A few years ago I decided it was time for a career change and joined Animals At Home, hoping now to make a difference both for pets, and pet owners. A career with animals was always something that I wanted having always from a young age had a special affinity with all animals but particularly dogs.

As part of my training, I attended a course at the Riverbank Veterinary Hospital on the Isle of Wight, and am now qualified in basic pet care, handling and first aid. I have also attended several courses on dog training and behaviour incorporating many different styles of dog training as best suits the animal.

My wife Natalie also loves animals and has received much the same training as myself. She often assists me in the day to day running of Animals at Home West Oxford and also in behavioural consultations along with our own dogs.

We have many pets ourselves; Nelson, a Dogue de Bordeaux, Woody and Bear who are Dogue de Bordeaux mixes, two cats, Mouse and Luna, not to mention several guinea pigs. Sadly we lost Benny, a Dogue de Bordeaux Cross who is featured on our website and leaflets earlier this year to a sudden illness. This beautiful boy is sorely missed.
